Grief Therapy
Grief isn’t something you “get over”—it’s something you live with, carry, and learn to navigate. Whether your loss is recent or long-standing, it can feel overwhelming, confusing, and isolating. You might feel waves of sadness, anger, guilt, or even numbness—and wonder if anyone truly understands.
Grief therapy is a safe space to honor your feelings, process your loss, and find ways to carry your loved one in your life without being consumed by pain. Here, there is no “timeline” for healing, no judgment for how you grieve, and no pressure to feel a certain way.
Together, we work to:
Explore and express your grief in a way that feels safe and authentic
Navigate complicated emotions like guilt, regret, or anger
Find ways to maintain connection with what you’ve lost
Rediscover meaning, hope, and purpose in life after loss
Learn coping tools that honor your grief while helping you function day-to-day
Grief doesn’t have to be faced alone. Therapy can help you move through it with compassion, understanding, and support—so you can carry your loss with care, not burden.
You don’t have to grieve alone.
Whether you are grieving the death of a loved one, a pregnancy loss, a relationship, a life transition, or another significant loss, therapy meets you where you are—honoring your experience while helping you move forward in a meaningful way.
Comprehensive Evaluation
We begin with a thoughtful evaluation to understand the nature of your loss, your relationship to what was lost, your support system, and how grief is affecting your daily life. This allows us to tailor care to your unique experience and identify areas where additional support may be helpful.Personalized Treatment Plan
Based on your evaluation and goals, your therapist will create an individualized treatment plan that respects your pace and needs. Therapy may integrate grief-informed approaches, trauma-informed care, and meaning-centered or mindfulness-based strategies to support healing without rushing the process.Individual Therapy Sessions
One-on-one sessions provide a safe, compassionate space to express emotions that may feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to share with others. Together, we explore your grief, help you process complex emotions, and support you in adjusting to life after loss while maintaining a continued bond in a healthy way.Coping Skills & Emotional Support
Therapy includes learning practical coping tools to help manage waves of sadness, anger, guilt, anxiety, or numbness. These skills are designed to support you during triggering moments, anniversaries, and day-to-day life as you navigate grief.Between-Session Reflection & Homework
Optional between-session reflections or gentle exercises may be offered to help you process grief at your own pace. These might include journaling, rituals of remembrance, or self-compassion practices that support healing outside of sessions.Collaborative Care
When appropriate, we collaborate with medical providers, psychiatrists, or other professionals to ensure comprehensive care, especially when grief is intertwined with trauma, depression, or anxiety.
Grief has no timeline, and there is no “right” way to grieve. You don’t have to carry this alone. Therapy can offer support, understanding, and guidance as you learn to live alongside loss with greater compassion and resilience.
